Positive Growth in Euro Area in 2007
Despite uncertainty about the evolution of the situation in financial markets, the authors of the EUROFRAME EFN Autumn report forecast economic expansion in the Euro Area to remain strong in the second half of 2007, bringing growth for the whole year to 2.7%. The authors predict growth to slow moderately in 2008 and 2009 to around 2.25 %, a level of growth which is close to the growth of potential output. The report is available here: Autumn 2007 Special Issue: European Social Models and Social Europe
EFN is a 3 year project aimed at producing biannual macro-economic forecasts for the euro area, Europe, and other regions, together with an analysis of topical policy issues for the European Commission. The forecast and the analysis are prepared by a consortium of 10 independent European institutes: see www.euroframe.org/efn.
