Innovation and Competitiveness: GTIPA Summit 2023
The 2023 GTIPA Summit at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Berlin, convened experts and policymakers to explore various facets of technology and innovation policy. The first of four panels titled "Innovation Competitiveness Worldwide" was moderated by the vice president of CASE Jan Hagemejer. The panel was a crucial segment of the event. It featured discussions on the recently released GTIPA reports that benchmarked the innovation competitiveness of states and provinces in select countries across Europe, South America, and the United States. These reports served as a valuable frame of reference for policymakers striving to bolster the competitiveness of their regional economies. The "Transatlantic Subnational Innovation Competitiveness Index" covered states in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, and the United States, while the "South American Subnational Innovation Competitiveness Index" compared states in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru to the United States.
