Piotr Kazmierkiewicz

Piotr Kazmierkiewicz is a political scientist, spe-cialising in issues of labour migration, migrant returns, and integration as well as migration governance and policy. Since 2007, he has co-operated with the International Organization for Migration in Albania, Moldova, and Ukraine as well as the Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Horn of Africa. Since 2002, he has been affiliated with the Institute of Public Affairs, Warsaw, focusing on the migration policies of Poland and the Central European states and their relations with Eastern Partnership states. Mr. Kazmierkiewicz has led research and assessment teams, developing gap and needs analyses of public policies, and has implemented policy analysis trainings and coaching programmes. He participated in doctoral studies and holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Central European University (1997), a Master’s degree in English Philology (British Studies) from Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland (1998), and a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science from Southern Oregon University, USA (1996). He is a recipient of the International Policy Fellowship of the Open Society Institute (1999-2000) and was an extern at the UNHCR headquarters in Geneva (1999).
