Cross-country comparison of LTC use controlled for demography
First a short overview will be given of the ANCIEN project as a whole, in which the role of the different work packages will be explained. Following that, some of the results for Poland and the other three representative countries will be presented. These results concern projections (e.g. of care needs and care use) and aspects of LTC system performance.

Long-term care systems in European countries – results of cluster analysis
Work Package 1 of the ANCIEN project involved the derivation of a typology of long-term systems in Europe. Using results from the data collection process, this presentation discusses the derived typology and highlights the position of Poland. The focus will be on organizational aspects of care rather than on quantitative measures for supply and demand.

LTC needs assessment in Poland (now and in the future) based on demographic and health limitation (disability) determinants
Poland belongs to a group of countries with high disability level what together with dynamic ageing creates serious health and mobility problems of the elderly. Given these and the fact that care is provided mainly informally, organization of coherent LTC system is a great challenge.
