Investment Climate in Africa Program Four-Country Impact Assessments published
CASE, in consortium with Economisti Associati (Italy) and The Africa Group LLC (USA), has performed an impact assessment study of an International Finance Corporation (IFC) program aimed at improving the investment climate (IC) in Africa.
The IFC program has provided four nations, namely, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Rwanda and Sierra Leone, with advisory services for investment climate reforms. As the IFC advisory projects in the four Sub-Saharan countries are coming to an end, the need has arisen to evaluate these initiatives in order to gain a thorough understanding of the results achieved and of the factors that have affected implementation, and to identify key lessons for the design of other regional and global programs.
The exercise assessed immediate impacts that have already materialized, as well as medium-long term impacts that are expected to materialize over the next 3 to 5 years.
For the four-country reports, please see the IFC website.
