CASE Fellow Itzhak Goldberg took part in the Open Innovations Forum in Moscow

The forum in Moscow lasted three days, from October 31st to November 2nd, 2012, and consisted of 60 different events. More than 300 speakers and 4000 guests took part in the forum, which aimed to bring together representatives from governments, businesses and academia, to share experiences and analyze fundamental global trends.

Dr. Itzhak Goldberg, CASE Fellow and Distinguished Fellow at Fraunhofer MOEZ, who has been studying innovation in many countries, moderated the discussion entitled “Does the World Need a Supranational Innovation Ecosystem?”, during which the discussants compared international experiences of building innovation systems and evaluated their role in solving the problems and challenges of the modern world.
Dr. Goldberg was also a discussant (together with Erik Berglof, the Chief Economist at EBRD) of the study ” Developing Mechanisms to Enhance the Russian Innovation Institutions” presented by Professor Josh Lerner from Harvard and his international expert group delivered in the panel entitled “Russian Development Institutes  - A look from the outside, a look from the inside”. At CASE, Dr. Goldberg currently works on two projects connected with innovation, namely “Does Government Support for Innovation Matter? The Effectiveness of Public Support for Private Innovation” and “PICK-ME: Policy Incentives for the Creation of Knowledge: Methods and Evidence”. He also took part in the recently-implemented project “Analysis of Foreign Practice – from Germany, France and Israel - in the Sphere of Legislative Regulation of the Innovation Activity in Russia”.
