Anders Åslund, leading expert on Ukrainian and Russian political economy joins the Atlantic Council

Anders Åslund, one of the world’s most renowned experts on Ukrainian and Russian political economy and chairman of the CASE Advisory Council, has been appointed as a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. Dr. Åslund is a leading specialist on East European economies, and has served as an economic adviser to several European governments. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko recently appointed Dr Åslund to his International Advisory Council for Reforms. 

Anders Åslund is an active participant in CASE projects, and the author of numerous publications issued within CASE series. In April 2015, Anders Åslund participated in the CASE real-time webinar on Ukraine’s political economy.

His appointment to the Atlantic Council will strengthen the organisation’s extensive work on Ukraine, expand the Council’s work to include Russian political economy, and reinforce the Council’s focus on the growth crisis in Europe.
