About the seminar:
Donald Trump has spoken repeatedly of "the Forgotten Man." But who is the Forgotten Man? Actually the Forgotten Man is a meme and theme in American politics dating back almost a century and a half. There are two competing definitions, even two competing Forgotten Men. The phrase has been applied by politicians from Franklin Roosevelt, the father of the American social welfare net, to Richard Nixon to Bill Clinton and President Trump. In a lecture Amity Shlaes traces the meanings of the terms and shows why the distinction is critical to the future of American growth and stability.
Language of the seminar: English (simultaneous translation to Polish will be provided).
