Vitaliy Krupin
Dr Vitaliy Krupin is focusing on the issues of rural development, agricultural and environmental economics, renewable energy sources, climate change and emissions of greenhouse gases. Develops skills in both quantitative (i.a., CGE modeling) and qualitative methods of research. The overall research experience accounts to over 18 years, since his employment at the Institute of Regional Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and following his current primary employment as an assistant professor at the Department of Economic Modelling at the Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development, Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN). Current research involvement includes several EU research projects in the Horizon Europe program, including BioMonitor4CAP (2022-2026, deputy leader of the IRWiR PAN Polish team), TRADE4SD (2021-2025 leader of the CASE Polish team), SoilValues (2023-2026, deputy leader of the IRWiR PAN Polish team), and one in the EU’s LIFE program: LIFE VIEEW 2050 (2022-2023). Completed projects include: H2020 SURE-Farm (2017-2021), H2020 LIFT (2018-2022), LIFE Climate CAKE PL (2017-2022), among others also contributed to projects financed by USAID, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, University of Cambridge, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Author of over 150 scientific publications, among which are 12 monographs (1 authored and 11 co-authored), over 50 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Expert evaluator at the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) and at the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP). Has been awarded for work contributing to the development of rural areas and agriculture. Among other, in 2016 received an award of the Parliament of Ukraine for the most talented young scientists in the areas of fundamental and applied researches and scientific and technical developments for co-authorship on the series of scientific publications entitled: “Socio-economic development of Ukrainian village: evaluation, problems, prospects” (https://zakon1.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/1495-19?lang=en). In 2022, was awarded with a badge of honor “Distinguished for the Agriculture” by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland.
