Tomasz Michalik

Lawyer, tax advisor, partner at MDDP Michalik Dłuska Dziedzic i Partnerzy Sp. z o.o.

Specializes in VAT and other indirect taxes. In the period 1993-2004 he was heading a VAT practice at Ernst & Young in Poland; since 1997 as a partner. He is a co-founder and partner (since 2004) at MDDP Michalik Dluska Dziedzic & Partners, one of the largest Polish tax advisory firm.

In the period January 2010 – January 2014 he was acting as a President of the National Chamber of Tax Advisors – an only association of tax advisors in Poland, member of CFE.

Expert appointed by the Polish Parliament in its works on act on VAT. In the period 2011 – 2013 member of the Fiscal Committee of CFE. Member of the Business Expert Group on the smooth functioning of the VAT in the EU set up by the EU Commission (2010 - 2012). Currently member of the VAT Expert Group set up by the Commission in 2012.

Author of a commentary to the Polish VAT Act (10 updated and revised editions since 2004), published by C.H. Beck; co-author of the Polish chapter of an IBFD publication - VAT in Europe, author of numerous articles in professional publications.
