The Urban AquaFarm's Opening!
On March 21, 2023, the Urban AquaFarm will be opened in Wrocław – it is the first aquaponic farm in Poland created as part of the Polish-Norwegian research grant “Urban Stormwater Aquaponics Garden Environment (USAGE)”.
Aquaponics is the method of growing plants in water (hydroponics) and raising aquatic animals (aquaculture) within a single system with constantly recirculating water. Aquaponic systems are becoming increasingly important in food production due to the depletion of water resources, the increase in the world's population and, consequently, the growing demand for food. Hence, urban agriculture is the future of cities and an ecologically conscious way for their sustainable development.

The first aquaponic farm in Poland was built as part of the Polish-Norwegian research grant “Urban Stormwater Aquaponics Garden Environment (USAGE)”, the purpose of which is to create garden installations and present the method of urban food production based on aquaponic systems. Our farms in Wroclaw and Oslo are supported by the collection and treatment of rainwater.
