The study “Agglomeration in Europe in the Context of Socio-Ecological Transition” released
What might be the potential impact of the so-called socio-ecological transformation on agglomeration in Europe and what are the factors influencing the change?
The authors of the study "Agglomeration in Europe in the Context of Socio-Ecological Transition", Izabela Styczyńska and Constantin Zaman, argue that the main factors that significantly influence agglomeration are mainly related to labor market pooling and demographic change. Other transformations, like the shift from carbon to green economy or growing ICT use, have an ambiguous effect.
The study was conducted within the project “NEUJOBS - Employment 2025: How will multiple transitions affect the European labour market”, which studies the possible development of the European labor market seen in the context of socio-ecological transition.
