Research Exchange Meeting: Insights on Poland's Past

On 20th of November two researchers Cho Kum Sup and Yoon Kwan Yong from The Institute for Peace Affairs in the Republic of Korea met with Jan Hagemejer and Marek Peda at CASE headquarters. The meeting aimed to exchange thoughts on Poland's former communist regime and the transition process.

During the discussion, many important issues were addressed, focusing particularly on:

• The main causes of the social crisis in the communist Poland,
• Examples of anti-government actions taken by the Polish society,
• Characteristics of the ruling class and weaknesses of the regime.

The meeting was the opportunity to share insights and also gain some knowledge from the Korean perspective.
