Report on the Education of Adults in Poland

Description:

A national report commissioned by the Polish Ministry of National Education for the 6th International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VI) was prepared on the Development and State of Adult Learning and Education (ALE). The 6th International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VI), to be held in Brazil in May 2009, is a UNESCO led inter-governmental conference (category II) for policy dialogue and policy assessment on adult learning and education.

Method:

1. Preparation of the report based on:

general overview
policy, legislation and financing
quality of adult learning and education
provision, participation and achievement
research, innovation and good practices.

2. Organisation of a seminar for representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Regional Development, The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PAED), NGOs, employers' organisations.

Results:

1. Report prepared and delivered to the Ministry of National Education.
2. Action plan developed during the seminar and to be used as a basis for future cooperation.
