Networking meeting of the project "Support for the refugees integration system in Poland"

A networking meeting for social workers involved in the implementation of Individual Integration Programs (IPIs) organized by the UNHCR Warsaw office and CASE took place in Warsaw on June 18.

Twenty social workers  from different cities in Poland –  Sopot, Gdansk, Gdynia, Krakow, Białystok, Łódź, Katowice, Poznań, Lublin, Wrocław and Warsaw – attended the meeting. The workshop was an opportunity to exchange experiences and support the mutual learning process of the participants.

IPIs are integration programs addressed to the beneficiaries of international protection in Poland - recognized refugees and persons granted subsidiary protection. Within IPIs, foreigners are offered, among others, financial support to learn Polish or support in finding a job. The situation in different cities differs both in terms of the number of programs implemented and support that might be offered.

During the meeting, participants discussed the strengths and weaknesses of IPIs, cooperation in the implementation of programs with other institutions (e. g. labor offices) and the development of those skills of social workers, which are important from the point of view of working with foreigners.

The meeting was organized within the project "Support for the refugees integration system in Poland".
