Equalising opportunities for the less developed regions of Armenia due to implementation of development projects
Due to the fairly centralized system and hierarchically subordinated administration the central authorities in Armenia manage most of the EU and international funds. Using the experience gained during the transformation period based on almost 30 years of scientific research, CASE experts in cooperation with a local partner of the Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC) developed a course for representatives of the local government of Armenia.
The course entitled "Equalising opportunities for the less developed regions of Armenia due to implementation of development projects" presented our experience, knowledge and specific solutions applied during the implementation of Polish reforms, discussing the possibilities of using Polish experience in Armenia. The project was aimed at a group of up to 30 people representing 10 selected municipalities in Armenia.
The project included the following tasks:
- Developing the course content for representatives of municipalities in Armenia.
- Technical preparation and implementation of the course for local authorities representatives in Armenia.
- Tutoring for project participants.
The main goals of the project were
- Increasing the knowledge of representatives of local authorities in Armenia (up to 30 people) about the experience of Polish self-governments in obtaining funds and implementing development projects;
- Increasing the knowledge of representatives of local authorities in Armenia (up to 30 people) on applying for funds and implementing development projects, including international funds;
- Increasing the skills of representatives of local authorities (up to 30 people) in relation to drafting grant applications and project management.
