Electromobility+ project enters implementation stage
The kick-off meeting, taking place in Vienna between 14-15th of June, marked the official beginning of the Development of an Evaluation Framework for the INtroduction of Electromobility+ (DEFINE) project co-funded by the European Commission in the framework of the ERA-NET Transport. CASE together with Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, Umweltbundesamt GmbH, Technische Universität Wien, Öko-Institut gathered in Institute for Advanced Studies’ (leader of the consortium) headquarters to discuss the cooperation-related issues for the 2,5-year long project.
Involved partners delivered presentations outlining their input to the project. The meeting provided the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss various visions for the implementation of the project, after envisaged budget cuts. Vivid discussions after presentations helped clarify expected outcomes of each work package, better synchronize the work throughout the project and identify potential constraints.
Within the project framework the consortium aims to develop two economic models with inputs from three European countries – Poland, Germany and Austria. Models are expected to allow the assessment of economic, behavioral and environmental impacts of a shift towards electromobility. CASE’s role is to provide input on behavioral effects, economic data and scenarios, considering the experience from developed scenarios for Germany and Austria. A successful project will estimate the full economic cost associated with a higher share of electric mobility.
