CASE launches project on the Effectiveness of Public Support for Private Innovation
Since March 2012 CASE has been engaged in a project Does Government Support for Innovation Matter? The Effectiveness of Public Support for Private Innovation sponsored by the EC. CASE experts Itzhak Goldberg and Krzysztof Szczygielski will analyze the government support for innovation in form of instruments of financial support in Turkey and Poland, and assess their effectiveness by applying recent econometric techniques. Both countries are comparable in terms of economic and technological development, yet the differences in, among others, the R&D policy recently pursued give potential for comparative analysis.
The project will last a year. The final conclusions, prepared by CASE experts will not only be relevant for Turkey and Poland but also they will serve other developing or catching-up countries that aim to build a knowledge-based economy.
