CASE enhances introduction of the bio-economy concept into education - the BioBeo project kick-off meeting
CASE is pleased to start a new project which supports educational programmes that enhance the understanding of the bio-economy in the EU Member States.
The kick-off meeting of the project entitled “BioBeo – Innovative Education in the bio-economy” is taking place between 16 and 18 November in Dublin, at the premises of the University College Dublin (UCD), the project leader.
The BioBeo project aims at:
-
introducing new approaches to enhance how governance of education in the curricular economy is tackled;
-
implementing the concept of bio-economy via the BioBeo education programme;
-
providing a basis for piloting the BioBeo education programme and resources in preschools, primary and secondary schools and also in teacher education modules in university courses;
-
enhancing learning outcomes and experiences on the bio-economy by developing a set of digital toolkits;
-
developing the BioBeo Interconnectedness Programme with primary, secondary school as well as university students which will culminate in the Interconnectedness Awards;
-
demonstrating a measured increase in the engagement of young people and their intention to pursue education and career in life science, technology and bio-economy;
-
integrate the BioBeo education programme into university curricula in selected EU countries.
Working together with other 14 partners from 10 European countries, CASE will be responsible for the identification of barriers and opportunities to implement the concept of the bio-economy into schools’ educational curricula and for the preparation of the governance framework for its efficient implementation.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Coordination and Support Actions under grant agreement No 101059900 — BioBeo.
