NEW PROJECT: Ageing policies - Access to services in different Member States
Access to social, health care and long-term care, housing as well as other essential services including digital communication, play a key role for ensuring active ageing. CASE is leading a project to provide an overview of the state of play in the EU Member States on access to quality services for elderly people, including those living in rural and remote areas. The project aims also to identify the differences in quality between private and public provision of services.
The kick off meeting of the project took place on April, 15. Three CASE’s experts: Agnieszka Sowa-Kofta (Project Leader), Izabela Styczyńska (Quality Assurance) and Anna Ruzik-Sierdzińska (Researcher) participated in the online meeting.
The main topics discussed during the meeting were: project’s goals, scope, schedule and challenges. Participants agreed that the recent pandemic has exacerbated the already existing pressure on providing equal and timely access to high-quality and affordable services, notably for the most vulnerable elderly and the disabled, while also putting a strain on the sustainability of social security and pension systems.
The project is conducted in cooperation with Visionary Analytics and ICON.
