A research paper on the sustainability of the current EU legislative framework to protect consumers and the SMEs in the digital sphere

Project description

Since the EU regulatory framework on consumer protection and SMEs has been shaped mainly to address the off-line challenges, it might no longer be fit the purpose in the digital world. It should thus be reviewed to ensure proper adaptation to the digital sphere and its emerging business models. The research paper will assess the suitability of the already adopted legal acts and their implementation by Member States, and seek to address the question of the added value of an appropriate EU-level response to the challenges identified
